From humble beginnings as a dish washer, to becoming the owner of a hidden gem that has been successful for the past seven years, Chef Emmanuel Smith has seen the world all because of his will to expand his culinary skills.

Chef Emmanuel’s Icelandic trip a few weeks ago was sparked by his friendship with a native from that country, Chef Völundur Snær Völundarson, who served as co-owner of Sabor before he handed it over to Smith.

Additionally, the head chef of two restaurants tucked away on the Pelican Bay property, Garden Delite and Sabor Restaurant said his leisure trip to Iceland quickly turned into an island feast to display native dishes for the Icelanders.
